The Road Back Home
Lawrence Chewning is a Christian singer/songwriter whose music spans the past four decades. Lawrence and his bands, the Fishermen and later Lawrence Chewning & Eastland Band, were pioneers in the burgeoning new form of music which became known as Contemporary Christian Music. He has recorded eight projects over the years, the most recent of which is "The Road Back Home", released in 2011. Lawrence's most famous compositions are the songs, "The Anchor Holds" and "At the Foot of the Cross", made popular by Ray Boltz. His music reflects the melting pot of styles which make up the South, including gospel, blues, country, and a touch of slow piano jazz.
