Feed My Sheep

Feed My Sheep

I recently had the opportunity to sing at a gathering of pastors in the area. It is always a
joy for me to express in song to pastors my respect and gratitude for all they do.
I wrote this song, “Feed My Sheep”, in the early 2000's after being asked to do a concert
at a church in Indiana pastored by a man who made an indelible mark in my life. John K.
Summers. John K. is a giant in my estimation and is beloved by hundreds of people all
over the country and beyond. He is in his nineties now and is still actively taking trips to
Haiti to minister to the people there. He has never taken his hand off the plow and is a
great inspiration to me.
After seeing him at his church and reminiscing on his life of faithfulness, I wrote this
song in his honor.
Here are the lyrics:/my-blog

CONCERT & SPEAKING SCHEDULE

2020 is a significant milestone for Lawrence because he will be celebrating 50 years in ministry this year.  It began after a spontaneous spiritual awakening occurred at Asbury College, in Wilmore, Kentucky on February 3, 1970, and then spread out to the city of Anderson, Indiana and Anderson College (now Anderson University) when Lawrence was in his junior year.  Hundreds of people came to Christ and rededicated their lives to Him during this passionate time of revival which lasted a number of weeks. Lawrence was touched deeply by these revivals and has devoted his life ever since to sharing the good news through songs he has written and through the spoken Word.

We are actively booking concerts and speaking engagements for the coming year.  If interested in booking Lawrence, please contact him at lchewningjr@sc.rr.com or call at (843) 260-0556

Living In The Shadow

Lawrence Chewning

Lawrence Chewning has been writing and singing music since the heyday of the Jesus Movement of the early 1970's. This was the time frame when what later became known as Contemporary Christian Music was being formed. This is Lawrence's tenth project and draws from a variety of styles. It is piano-based and has tinges of blues, gospel, country, Celtic, and even has a touch of Latin on one of the cuts, and for this reason, it is not easy to pigeon-hole into one, specific genre of music. The lyrics are spiritual and Christian-oriented
